Heatset tissue applied with ethanol to edges of spine leather.
Spine leather up to outermost sewing supports lifted
Final Parts
Spine facing was removed using ethanol as the solvent.
Spine leather reattached using Lascaux.
Moriki paper outer hinge attached over spine leather and under board leather using Lascaux.
Tengujo paper adhered to edge of board leather with Aytex-P to prevent leather catching.
Paper toned and finished with SC-6000.
Split Outer Hinge
Airplane cotton attached to spine liner under leather.
Each tab was split vertically.
The outer parts went over the boards and were pasted under the leather.
The inner parts went under the boards and were pasted under the paste down.
Inner hinge
Medium weight Korean tissue pretoned with acryclics to match lighter areas of endsheets.
Inner hinge partially attached with Aytex-P into shoulder (saving space while outer hinge is completed).
Tissue left overlong, pasted and torn after outer hinge repair is finsihed.
